Police wasted no time busting those responsible for a theft from a Paisley pop machine last week.
Five people, all from Hamilton and all known to police, were arrested shortly after the theft occurred.
South-Bruce OPP officers stopped a vehicle at 2:27 a.m. on Dec. 28 on Bruce County Road 3 in the Municipality of Brockton. Officers observed various break and enter instruments inside the suspect vehicle, a Dodge Caravan carrying five occupants. Further investigation revealed a back pack containing a large quantity of coins in the vehicle, as well as black ski masks, gloves, black jackets and sweat shirts, flash lights, screw drivers, pry bars and hammers.
Four men and one woman, ranging in age from 24 to 50, were arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing. In total, they face 30 charges, including possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, failure to comply with probation orders and possession of marijuana less than 30 grams.
