Bruce Power is donating $45,000 to 22 local food banks and Christmas hamper programs in Bruce and Grey counties.

“Food banks are vital to many families in our region and it’s important we continue to support such a necessary cause in times of need,” Duncan Hawthorne, py time of the year but also challenging for many families to put food on the table and find that extra income for presents,” Alice Wannan, Family Service Coordinator, Salvation Army Owen Sound, said in the release. “With support from companies like Bruce Power, this donation will help us to ensure our shelves are stocked so no one goes without food over the holidays.”

In addition to donating to local food banks, Bruce Power’s annual employee toy drive is currently taking place. Employees are dropping off toys for children of all ages in the designated boxes across site, which will be collected and donated to local Christmas hampers.
