Bill Shewfelt is Kincardine’s Club Champion for 2013.

Shewfelt came from fourth place Sunday to win Kincardine Golf Course's 36-hole championship tournament by four strokes.

Jay Bell had Saturday's best score, leading the club championship with a 75 after 18 holes. He was joined in the final foursome by Andy McLelland (78), Mike Xenos (79) and Shewfelt, who was five strokes behind entering Sunday's round.

Shewfelt made up all five of those strokes on the front nine, pulling even with a -2 score of 34. Bell shot 40 on the front nine, and McLelland a 41. Shewfelt pushed his way to the front of the pack, pushed once on the 15th hole by McLelland. McLelland birdied 15, while Shewfelt three-putted for bogey. That knocked his lead down to two strokes. But Shewfelt got all the room he needed on the very next hole, sinking a 40-foot putt for bird.

McLelland ended up in second place, four strokes back of Shewfelt.

Meanwhile, Judie Hunter claimed the Ladies Club Championship, and Walter Hogg won the 65+ Senior Men's title. Paul Catto was first among Senior Men 50-64, while Shirley Purdie won the Senior Ladies championship.

Carol Ann McDonald and Carolyn Surridge shared the Ladies Low net score, while Hogg had the Men’s Low net. In A Flight, Low gross went to Andy McLelland, and Don Rosart and the Low Gross in B Flight. C Flight Low gross score went to Gord McDonald.

Kincardine Golf Course has a Fall Special on right now, where you can play nine holes for $20 or 18 holes for $30.
