How about a Saturday night double feature for the family?

Kincardine has two teams left in the hunt for an OMHA championship, and both happen to be midget-aged teams. And both will play Saturday night at the Davidson Centre, beginning at 6 p.m.

“We need all the support we can get, especially in the finals,” said Mitch Burrows, a forward with the Beisel Contracting midgets. “There is nothing that pumps the boys up like a full barn.”

The Beisel Contracting Kinucks, Kincardine’s second entry team, will face Mooretown in Game 3 of the OMHA GR3 Championship series. The Kinucks dropped Game 1 of this series at home Sunday afternoon in a close, tight checking game. Game 2 of the series is tomorrow (Thursday) night in Mooretown at 7:30 p.m., so this series will certainly look significantly different by the time it returns home.

Immediately following that contest, Game 2 of the OMHA Midget B finals will begin. Kincardine heads into Saturday night’s game holding a 1-0 lead on Penetang after a road win shut out Sunday in Penetang. The Miller Insurance midgets are now two wins away from back-to-back OMHA championships.

Should both of these series still be in progress, another double header will be held the following Saturday night with the same game times. That would mean, however, Miller Insurance and Penetang is going to a Game 6 while the reps will take us there it were going to a sixth and deciding game with Penetang, while the AE Kinucks would be in a Game 5 situation.

A complete schedule for both of these OMHA series can be found elsewhere on this website, just follow the tabs to Sports.
