There was a win on the road and a loss at home today (Sunday) as two Kincardine midget hockey teams opened up OMHA championship series.

The Miller Insurance Kinucks pasted Penetang 4-0 in Game 1 of the OMHA Midget B Finals this afternoon on the road. Spencer Montgomery posted another shut out for the Kinucks, who will host Game 2 of this series Saturday evening. Kincardine is the defending OMHA champion, and is making a fourth straight appearance in the finals.

However, in Kincardine, the Beisel Construction AE (additional entry) Kinucks were edged out 3-1 by Mooretown in the first game of the OMHA Midget AE GR3 championship series. Kincardine struck first on a power play, but Mooretown battled back and held a 2-1 lead for the majority of this contest, adding a third goal late in the affair. The Kinucks will travel to Mooretown for an important Game 2 on Thursday night.
