A 22-year-old Huron – Kinloss man was killed last Tuesday night in a crash on Bruce Road 7, between Concession 2 and Concession 4.

A Ford Taurus driving northbound on Bruce Road 7 struck the back end of a horse drawn wagon at about 9 p.m. The driver of the horse was thrown from the wagon and pronounced dead at the scene by Emergency Services. The Ford had been travelling in the same direction as the wagon, which was filled with lumber.

The owner of the car, a 35-year-old Ripley man, was transported to Kincardine Hospital in ambulance, treated and later released with minor injuries. Neither vehicle had any passengers.

The OPP West Region Technical Collision Investigation Unit was called to assist the South-Bruce OPP with this investigation. Bruce Count Road 7 remained closed between Concessions 2 and 4 for the protection of emergency services workers in the area. The road was re-opened to traffic just before noon the following day (Wednesday).
