Crash kills 22-year-old

A 22-year-old Huron-Kinloss man was killed in a crash last night (Tuesday) on Bruce Road 7.

At 9 p.m. last night, police were dispatched to the scene of a collision involving a horse drawn Mennonite wagon carrying a load of lumber between Concessions 2 and 4 on Road 7 in Huron-Kinloss. A Ford Taurus had been travelling north on 7, and collided with the back end of the horse-drawn Mennonite wagon moving in the same direction.

The driver of the wagon, 22-year-old Leroy Brucbacher of Huron Kinloss, was ejected from the wagon on impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Emergency Services. The driver of the Taurus, a 35-year-old Ripley man, was treated for minor injuries at Kincardine Hospital and released.

The OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit was called in to assist the South-Bruce OPP with the investigation. Following the crash, the road was closed to traffic for the safety of the responders. Bruce County Road 7 re-opened to traffic today at 11 a.m.
