The Lucknow Kinsmen have lined up top notch talent for this year’s Music in the Fields country music festival.

Organizers confirmed last week that modern country stars Big and Rich will headline the two-day festival, slated for Aug. 23 and 24 in Lucknow. Self-proclaimed America’s Technicolour cowboys, Big Kenny Alphin and John Rich, shot onto the scene with their hit Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy, and have just released their latest album, Hillbilly Jedi.

Nova Scotia artist and Canadian Country Music Award winner Dean Brody will open for Big and Rich on Aug. 24. Also featured in the Saturday line-up are Dallas Smith, Small Town Pistols, Autumn Hill and River Junction Band.

The line-up for Aug. 23 is expected to be announced on Feb. 19. Once again this year a side stage, the Sepoy Saloon, will be set up to allow local musicians to perform in between scheduled acts.

As in previous years, camping will be available close to the festival site. For more information about the 2013 Music in the Fields and for tickets, visit www.musicinthefields.ca.
