Shane vying for a playoff spot

Action is heating up in the Career Horizons Grey-Bruce Major Curling League.

With three games remaining, eight playoff spots are still up for grabs.

The league’s top three teams are a win away from clinching a position, while the two last place teams have been officially eliminated from contention.

Assuming the top three rinks win one of their remaining games, that leaves five playoff spots available for nine teams, including Les Shane’s Kincardine BDO Dunwoody rink.

Shane dropped an 8-3 decision to Jeff Thomson’s Hutton Transport rink last Wednesday night in Chesley.

Shane’s rink is right in the thick of a logjam in the middle of the standings with a 5-5 record.

The league will now break until after the holidays. Play will resume Jan. 7 in Port Elgin and Owen Sound

The playoffs will be held in Port Elgin in late January.
