Should there be just one publicly funded education system?

When I was a new teacher 23 years ago, I didn't know if it would make a big difference if I taught in a Catholic school or not. I now realize how my faith, and sharing that with our students, is the most important part of my teaching career. It is wonderful to help students learn about my subject area, Computer Engineering, but I feel I would have failed if I did not teach them about God's Love for his people and their world. Teaching students to love God and love another as per the ten commandments sets a firm basis to direct their lives. As Catholic teachers, we not only ask our students "What do you know?", but we ask "Who did you become?"
I won't begin by explaining why they should not be combined into one.
What I can ask everyone non catholic believer is this :
Would you allow Catholic teaching to be given to your children?
and we know the answer already. Please stop playing to minority faith card or we are all equal card. We have accepted non christian faith in this country. If the system is called Catholic school system, is because it's Catholic. If it was muslim, it will be called muslim or any other.
How many catholic schools are in Saudi Arabia?
Can christians fly above Saudi Arabia air space?
Equality?
This is Canada, Like many immigrants including myself, If we don't like it, just leave. Why change things the way they are now? what is the purpose?

We have allowed in this country imigrants to practice their own beliefs and allow our schools to change..... We still live in this country and we still should be proud to have a Catholic School System in place We need to stand strong and show the world WE need our beliefs believed in too as well as the imigrants and have the rights to stay as a Catholic FAMILY WE need our rights to have a Catholic System in OUR Country too. The Catholic System NEEDS TO STAY THIS IS OUR COUNTRY TO change and not everyone elses beliefs and faith... Please KEEP our System to many things have changed in this country and it hasn't been for the good .....

If we loose Catholic Education we can't get it back. I am a teacher in the Ottawa Catholic board now and I was once a teacher in Quebec 10 years ago when we lost our Catholic school boards. What people don't realize is the partnership role that we have with our parishes in teaching our children Catholic values. In Quebec, many parents were outraged by the fact that they had to do all the work in preparing their child for First Communion, for example, because their parish did not have the manpower nor the funds to provide that service. So think about that before you decide.

Catholic Education is a Constitutional Right
Since the Catholic schools system is entrenched in the constitution, they cannot take it away. I am 100% against the amalgamation of boards.
2 very similar and different and separate system.
Hi everyone,
I won't begin by explaining why they should not be combined into one.

and we know the answer already. Please stop playing to minority faith card or we are all equal card. We have accepted non christian faith in this country. If the system is called Catholic school system, is because it's Catholic. If it was muslim, it will be called muslim or any other.

Please reply to this and explain why.
No to one System
We have allowed in this country imigrants to practice their own beliefs and allow our schools to change..... Say no to one system
If we loose Catholic Education we can't get it back. I am a teacher in the Ottawa Catholic board now and I was once a teacher in Quebec 10 years ago when we lost our Catholic school boards. One School System
we should continue having two distinct and separate school systems. Amalgamation never succeeds in achieving the purposes for which it was intended.
