The opening round went to the Carruthers Nicol Insurance Kincardine Bulldogs on Sunday.

Round 2 last night in Kincardine went to the Walkerton Hawks.

The Walkerton Hawks avenged Sunday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Bulldogs with a 5-2 win last night at the Davidson Centre.

The Hawks took a 3-2 lead into the third period, and scored three power play goals, two of them coming on 5-on-3 advantages. For full details, don't miss next week's print edition. Tonight, Kincardine is in Mount Forest to face the Patriots. Tonight's game is a 8 p.m. start.

BoOther games around the Western loop tonight have Wingham hosting the Mitchell Hawks and the winless Goderich Sailors in Hanover for an 8 p.m. start against the Barons. Tomorrow night, the ‘Dogs will be in Mount Forest for an 8 p.m. start against the Patriots. Two other games are scheduled for Saturday night – the Barons will be in Mitchell, while the league will get its first taste of interlocking play as Lucan travels to Goderich.
