Funeral plans for mother, wife and popular Kincardine District Secondary School teacher Michelle Taylor were made public today.

Husband James (Jim) Taylor posted a link to all of the details today on his facebook page.

Two visitations will be held tomorrow (Friday, May 25) at the Anglican Church of the Messiah on Russell Street. The first will begin at 2 p.m. and run until 4 p.m., while the second is set for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The funeral service is planned from Saturday (May 26) at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Messiah with Rev. Rob Hiscox officiating. Davey Linklater Funeral Home is looking after the arrangements, and online memorial is available at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com

Taylor, a teacher at KDSS since 1985, was very involved in the school community – particularly with the Ontario Federation of Home and Schools Association and KDSS’ Free the Children (FTC) initiative.

The KDSS FTC groups said today plans will proceed for Friday’s annual fundraiser as originally planned. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for the Spring Into Summer dinner at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #183.

“We all know in our hearts that Mrs. Taylor would want the dinner to happen,” said student AJ Adams. Adams is a member of FTC, as well as the student’s council president.

“She was so passionate about FTC, and the dinner was something she looked forward to every year since it began in 2008,” said Adams.

The Taylor family also wishes us to continue with the dinner, as they know how much it meant to her.”
