Ripley cruised through the girls elementary school regional basketball tournament last week, going undefeated on home turf.

The Ravens will advance to the Bluewater Board championship tournament later this month in Flesherton.

Ripley opened the five-team, round robin tournament with a low scoring 13-7 win over Lucknow Central School. The Ravens then pounded on Teeswater 29-9 before getting a good test against Huron Heights Public School of Kincardine. It was a close game until the fourth quarter, when Ripley’s three-point attempts began to fall. It ended 19-11.

With the regional tournament banner on the line, Ripley defeated Kincardine Township Tiverton Public School 18-13 to clinch the regional title.

The Ripley roster includes Bethany Wilken, Annie Leppington, Hayli Charette, Christen Bell, Kirsten Walden, Jenelle Smeltzer, Callie Martyn, Amber Howald, Madison McBride, Darby Chalmers, Robin Chevalier and Sydney Beishuizen.
