The Ripley Wolves earned a split on the weekend in WOAA Senior A hockey play.

The Wolves were downed 7-2 at home Friday night by the Palmerston 81’s, but rebounded with a 6-2 win in Drayton Saturday afternoon.

Ripley improved to 3-4 with Sunday’s win over the Icemen.

Drayton took leads of 1-0 and 2-1 in this game, but Ripley tied the game twice on goals from Nick Locking and Travis VanGaver. The game was tied 2-2 heading into the third period.

Ripley pulled away from the Icemen in the final frame and skated to a 6-2 win.

Friday in Ripley, the unbeaten 81’s had little trouble with the Wolves. Palmerston led from the start and was in control of the play for most of the game.

The Wolves have next weekend off, and will host the annual 3-on-3 tournament at the Ripley arena.

Ripley is in action again Nov. 38 when they travel to Shallow Lake to play the Crushers. The following night the Wolves will take on the Muskies in Shelburne.
