The Kincardine juveniles skated to a 3-3 tie in Normanby last week.

It was the second draw of the season for the Crabby Joe’s Kinucks, who are still looking for the first win of the year.

Kincardine got out to a good start, playing in the offensive zone, but it was Normanby that got on the board first after a goal mouth scramble during a Normanby power play.

The hosts went ahead 2-0 on a rebound that beat Kinucks goalie Keegan Woodman.

With 2.7 seconds remaining in the first period and a face-off deep in the Normanby end, Kincardine pulled Woodman in favour of an extra attacker. The puck was drilled towards the Normanby net off the draw, and Mike Cracknell potted the rebound with 0.7 seconds left on the clock. Rory Clubb assisted on the goal, which gave Kincardine some momentum heading into the second period.

A power play goal from Keegan Newsham tied the game in the second. Newsham jammed home a rebound, with an assist to Cracknell.

Kincardine got into penalty trouble, and Normanby regained the lead with a power play marker.

Cracknell was stopped on a penalty shot after being hauled down from behind, but Blair Chaput found the back of the net with 21 seconds left in the second period. Clubb assisted on the goal, which left the game at 3-3.

The third period solved nothing and the game ended even.

Crabby Joe’s juveniles are in action again Friday night. Kincardine will host Mildmay for a 9:30 p.m. start at the Davidson Centre.
