The Kincardine District Secondary School boys hockey team will open the postseason on home ice.
The Knights and Hanover’s John Diefenbaker Secondary School played to a 2-2 draw Wednesday afternoon in Kincardine, and the single point clinched first place for KDSS in the Bluewater Athletic Association South Division. The Knights finished with a 5-1-2 regular season record.
Grade 9 Garrett McFadden scored both Kincardine goals. His first from Carter Strachan made it 1-1 in the second period, and his second tied the game with just 3:19 remaining in regulation. Mike Osadca and Gerrit Satosek assisted on that one, a power play tally.
The Knights will host the Walkerton District Secondary School Raiders for a quarter-final contest after the exam break. JDSS and Sacred Heart will play in the other South Division match-up.
