The Kincardine Home Hardware novices will head to St. Clair Shores, Michigan, on a roll.

Kincardine went 3-0 in a one-day tournament Saturday in Durham, the team’s last game action before competing in this weekend’s International Silver Stick Championships.

Saturday, Kincardine opened with an 8-1 drubbing of Stayner, with Jordan Moulton leading the way with a four-goal performance. Wilson Shipp had a pair, while Jordan Beisel and Cody McLelland each scored once. Beisel also had a couple of helpers, while Shipp and Mitch Pyke each added one assist.

Kincardine then ran all over Dunnville in a 7-0 contest. Moulton had a hat trick in this one, and Beisel and Shipp each scored twice. Heidi Allen, Beisel, Pyke, Moulton and Owen Thorn had assists.

The championship game was against Cayuga, and was a much tighter affair. Moulton, Beisel and Cody McLelland each scored once, however, in a 3-0 Kincardine win. Goaltenders Jared Petrie and Ryan Wheeler were great all weekend long.

Kincardine will open the International Silver Stick tournament Friday. A schedule of games was not known at press time, but The Independent will post the schedule on our website once it arrives. We’ll also have novice updates from St. Clair Shores on www.independent.on.ca, as well as updates via twitter@kincintheslot.
