CHARLOTTE HERDE

Charlotte Frieda Herde (née Janke), of Ripley, passed away peacefully on Dec. 5, 2011 at the Kincardine Hospital at the age of 90 years.

Charlotte was born in Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1969.

She was the beloved wife of Helmut Herde.

Dear mother of Dagmar (Manfred) Baasner, and Monika Scheiding. Step-mother of Petra Van der Zander (Herde).

Loved grandmother of Thomas Baasner, Frank Baasner and his wife Paula, Christina Hoffzimmer (Baasner); and great grandmother of Katarina Baasner.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Gerhard Raschke; son Joachim Raschke; her parents, Hermann and Margarete Janke; brother Kurt Janke; and sister Käte Neumann.

Charlotte will be greatly missed by her family, dear friends and neighbours.

Cremation has taken place.

 

JUNE HUNTER

June Marie Hunter (née MacKinnon) of R.R. 5, Kincardine, died at home on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, in her 76th year.

Beloved wife of Larry Hunter.

Dear mother of John (Heather) Hunter, of Tiverton; Jamieson Hunter, of Ingersoll; Bob (Michele) Hunter, of Port Elgin; and Teresa (Todd) Dailey, of London. Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Josh, Carly, Nicole and James.

Loving sister of Neil (Irene) MacKinnon, of Kincardine; Lois Purves and Marlene Bor, both of London.

Lovingly remember by her mother-in-law, Rebecca Hunter of Tiverton.

Predeceased by her parents Chambers and Lila (Collins) MacKinnon.

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 and on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jeanette Fleischer officiating.

Interment Tiverton Cemetery.

LEONA JAMES

Leona Jean Mervedith James (née Irwin), of Kincardine and formerly of Vancouver, British Columbia, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, in her 87th year.

Beloved wife of the late Alex James.

Dear mother of Marilyn (Don) Arscott, of Kincardine.

Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Michael Billone (Nancy), Cindy (Stuart) Lang, Andrew (Melanie) Fox, Dan Arscott (Andrea) and Rebecca Arscott (Adam); and by her great-grandchildren: Laura, Jessica, Shannon, Gregory, Cameron and Keegan.

Loved sister of Lawrence Irwin, of Thunder Bay. Survived by her nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her brother Gordon Pearce.

Family and friends will be welcome at the home of Marilyn and Don Arscott, 315 Durham Market North, Kincardine, on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 from 2-4 p.m.

Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, Burnaby, British Columbia.

LAURENCE STANLEY

Laurence Stanley, of London, died at Kensington Village Nursing Home in London on Dec. 2, 2011, at the age of 86.

Laurence was born in Huron Township on Feb. 20, 1925, to the late Ellen (Kirk) and Milton Stanley.

He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Bradley) for over 57 years.

Dear father of Betty Stanley-Twigg, and Dr. Ronald Stanley and his wife Judy.

Missed by his grandchildren: Christopher, David, and Katherine Twigg, and Montana, Kerry, and Luke Stanley.

Survived by his sisters Edith Pederson, and Helen Smith. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by son-in-law Gregory Twigg; and his siblings Glen, Russell, Norval, and Audrey Traher.

As an adult, Laurence became a high school math teacher. He enjoyed skiing, square dancing and sharing time with his family and friends.

The funeral service was conducted from the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home in Ripley at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Diane Dier officiated and Shirley Harris was the organist.

Interment Ripley Cemetery.
