ALMA DUNK

Alma Marguerite Dunk (née Stanley), of Malcolm Place in Kincardine, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, in her 88th year. 

Beloved wife of the late Angus Dunk.

Dear mother of the late Robert Dunk. 

Survived by her sisters: Betty Stanley, of Brucelea Haven in Walkerton; Shirley MacKinnon (Oscar), of Kincardine; Leona Setley (Gary), of Walkerton; Marj (Jim) MacTavish, of Kincardine; Gloria (Gary) Ritchie, of Bayfield; and Helen (Clark) Pollock, of Kincardine. 

Also survived by her sisters-in-law: Irene Stanley, of Kincardine; and Millie Stanley, of Sarnia.  Special friend of Marina. 

Predeceased by her brothers, John, Earl and Eric Stanley; and by her sisters, Georgina Moore and June MacLean; as well as by sister-in-law Sadie Stanley. 

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Kincardine Cemetery, on Wednesday, Nov.  2, 2011, with Rev. Rob Hiscox officiating. 

Memorial donations to the Salvation Army or the Kincardine Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine.

CLARA GILCHRIST

Clara Christina Gilchrist (née McKinnon), of Kincardine, died at Trillium Court Nursing Home, Kincardine on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011,  in her 96th year. 

Beloved wife of the late James Gilchrist. 

Dear mother of Mary Lou (Ron) Mauro, of Grimsby; Larry (Kathy) Gilchrist, of R.R. 2, Tiverton; and Kathy Gilchrist (Harry Grossmith), of Kelowna, British Columbia. Loved grandmother of Patrick, Ryan (Lisa) and Tory (Trish) Gilchrist; Jamie and Gillian Mauro; and Hannah and Conor Grossmith. Great-grandmother of Everett, Alexandra, Kylah, Hailey, Lachlan and Laylah Gilchrist.

Sadly missed by her sister Alberta (John) Smith, of Tiverton; and brother-in-law Ron (Jean) Gilchrist, of Port Elgin. 

Predeceased by her brothers John (Alma) McKinnon and Bruce (Donelda) McKinnon; sister-in-law Jessie; and brother-in-law Ron Pedlar. 

Born on Oct. 6, 1916  to Lachlan (La) and Lou (Bell) McKinnon, Clara was raised on a farm on the 10th Concession of Kincardine Township. She married Jim Gilchrist in 1944 and they lived and raised their family on Bruce Road 15 (Boundary) of Kincardine Township. Clara was well-known in the community as an elementary school teacher of  more than one generation of students.  She was an active member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Glammis, and the Bruce County Historical Society. 

The funeral service was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011,  with Rev. Shelly Butterfield-Kocis officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Patrick, Ryan and Tory Gilchrist, Jamie and Gillian Mauro and Brian Gilchrist. Honourary flower bearers were Eileen Morris, Eileen Alexander, Eleanor Thompson and Shirley Thompson. Flower bearers were Kay Robson, Karen Skelly, Diane Sanderson and Carolyn Hamilton. 

Interment Purdy Cemetery.

BONNIE LARGE

Bonnie Jean Large, of Underwood, died at home on Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, in her 49th year.

Beloved daughter of George and Mary Jean (née Leggett) Large. 

Dear sister of Barb Leggett (Doug Robertson), of Bruce Township; Bert Haist (Kathy Johnston), of Lorne Beach; and Steve Large, of Bruce Township.  Loved aunt of Jenni and Suzanna Cook, Joey Haist (Jasmine Rushton), Conner Haist, Kassandra Large (Matt Ball), Katelyn Large (Gaige Jackson) and Kaleb Large. 

The funeral service was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine on Monday,  Oct. 24, 2011 with Pastor Kenneth Craig officiating.

Memories were shared by Bonnie's brother Steve.  Music was provided by Roger Williamson and Jennifer Barna. Serving as pallbearers were Joey and Conner Haist, Matt Ball, Kaleb Large, Gaige Jackson and Steve Aubrey.  Flower bearers were Suzanna Cook, Kassandra and Katelyn Large, Jasmine Rushton and Sherry Drury. 

Interment Port Bruce Cemetery.

WILLIAM SMITH

William "Bill" Thompson Smith, of R.R. 4, Kincardine, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, in his 83rd year.

Beloved husband of the late May Smith (née Callaghan). 

Dear father of Bill Smith (Sally Treidlinger), of R.R. 4, Kincardine; Linda (Richard) Gibson, of Barrie; Cindy Smith, of Montreal; and Elaine Smith, of Kincardine.

Loving grandfather of Benjamin and Hilary Smith, Tim (Chris) Gibson, Christine and Steven Gibson, Vanessa Mueggler, and Lydia and Margot Treidlinger.

Loved brother of George (Susan) Smith of Wishaw, Scotland.  Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and friends. 

Visitation was held at from 7-9 p.m. at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011from where the funeral service took place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, with Rev. Ruth MacLean officiating.

Serving as pallbearers were Bill and Ben Smith; Tim, Steven and Richard Gibson; Peter Meuggler; and Bill Black. Flower bearers were Christine Gibson, Vanessa Mueggler, Lydia and Margot Treidlinger, Linda Gibson and Hilary Smith. 

Interment Kincardine Cemetery.

KENNETH WRIGHTSON

The family announces with sorrow the death of  Kenneth Earl Wrightson in Sudbury on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011,  at the age of 65 years.

Son of the late Earl and Eileen Wrightson (née Gossell ), of Kincardine.

Beloved husband of Krystina Wrightson (née Sikora), of Garson. Son-in-law of the late Pauline Sikora.

Loving father of Rebecca Chevrier (Terry), of Garson; Lindsay Lafond (Guy), of Milton; and Andrew Wrightson, of Garson. Cherished grandfather to Alexis, Seth, Sydnee and Kembrie.

Dear brother to Steven Wrightson (Judy), of Thunder Bay; and Janis Hedley, of Kincardine. Dear brother-in-law to Donna Desjardins (Yvon), Jo-Ann Mailloux (Richard), Paula Clarke (Teddy), Shelley Gladu (Jeff) and John Sikora (Kelly). Ken also leaves behind many dear nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Ken or “Kenny” spent most of his work career with Ontario Hydro/Hydro One in locations all over Ontario, before going to work for himself and finding his niche with Algoma Power. Over the years, Ken filled his spare time with hobbies like curling, baseball, bowling and his favorite, golf.

Ken, Kenny, Dad, Grandpa – you were one good lookin’, all around nice guy! You and your great sense of humour will be missed. We love you.
