A crash involving a school bus left Highway 21 closed most of Thursday morning.

No children were on the school bus at the time of the crash, and the crash resulted in no major injuries. A 31-year-old Kincardine man, however, is facing a charge of careless driving.

Just before 9 a.m., the South-Bruce OPP arrived on Highway 21 in Kincardine Twp to find a Subaru Sidekick had been southbound when it crossed the centre line near the Kincardine Airport. The Subaru struck the side of a northbound Ross Young school bus.

The highway was closed in both directions while road crews cleared oil from the road surface at the crash site. The driver of the Suburu received minor injuries, and was charged with careless driving after being checked out at the Kincardine hospital.
