Jamie Brock stole the show Saturday afternoon as the Kincardine Home Hardware Novice rep team opened the season with a 2-0 win over Mitchell.

Brock stopped four breakaways, including one with just two minutes remaining, to earn his first shutout of the year in his first start.

Kendon Zettle gave Brock a lead to work with early in the opening frame. Zettle scored from Christopher Coady.

The defence of Emma Swift, Travis Anderson, Jacob Bishop and Jake Colley did a good job in helping clear the rebounds out of Brock's crease.

Late in the third period, Bryce McFadden salted away the win for Kincardine, scoring an insurance marker.

McFadden stickhandled through traffic before snapping a shot to the glove side to make it a 2-0 final.
