MARGARET DONNELLY

 

Margaret "Doris" Donnelly (née O'Hare), formerly of Kincardine, passed away at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Grimsby, on Monday, May 16, 2011, in her 81st year. 

 

Beloved wife of the late Len Donnelly. 

 

Dear mother of Patty and Duncan Roy, of Etobicoke; Sean Donnelly and dear friend Jane Rivard, of Bowmanville; Maggie and Peter Neuroth, of Niagara-on-the-Lake; Erin and Richard Begley, of Kincardine; and Tim and Lori Donnelly, of Lititz, PA, USA. 

 

Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Beckey and Angela Roy, Patrick and Kevin Donnelly, Anika and Kelly Neuroth, Matthew Donnelly Daigle, and Ally and Emily Donnelly. 

 

Predeceased by her biological parents, Ernestine O'Hare (née Cahill) and Charles O'Hare, as well as by her adoptive parents Mary St. Germain (née Brison) and John St. Germain, of North Bay. Also predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Arthur O'Hare, Wally O'Hare, Myrtle O'Hare, Madeline Ferguson, Garney St. Germain, Joe St. Germain and Marjorie Burnside. 

 

Survived by sister-in-law Kay St. Germain; Kathryn and her husband Adrian Oostrom; sister-in-law Margie and her husband Leo McIntyre; sister-in-law Eileen Donnelly Casey; and brother-in-law Lorne Donnelly.

 

Also survived by nieces Lynne Prevette, Janet Scofield, Randi O'Hare, Patricia Cormier and Joan Ann Smith; and nephews David St. Germain, Bryan Burnside and John St. Germain. 

 

Visitation was held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Wednesday, May 18, 2011

 

The funeral mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Thursday, May 19, 2011, with Rev. Fr. Don Wilhelm officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Tim, Sean and Patrick Donnelly, Duncan Roy, Rich Begley and Matthew Daigle.

LAURA JEAN HENDRY

1945-2011

It is with great sadness that the family of Laura Jean Hendry announces her passing, after a difficult battle with ovarian cancer, on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at London Health Sciences Centre.

 

Laura Jean is survived by her life-long friend and companion of 30 years, Donna Murray.

 

Predeceased by her parents Laura (Finlay) and Harold Hendry, formerly of Tiverton. 

 

Survived by brother Kenneth (Velma), sister Margaret (Peter) McKague, and brother George (Pat). 

 

Cherished and admired by many nieces and nephews. 

 

Laura Jean left an indelible impression on the lives of many family and friends throughout Ontario and Lakeland, Florida

 

A heartfelt thanks to Dr. L. Kasianik and staff at Kincardine Hospital, as well as to Dr. M. Prefontaine and staff at London Health Sciences Centre. 

 

She retired from the Metropolitan Toronto Police Services on March 31, 1996.

 

A private family service was held on Friday, May 20, 2011

 

A celebration of life for family and friends will be announced at a later date. 

 

Those who desire, may make a memorial donation in Laura Jean’s memory to Ovarian Cancer Canada.

MICHAEL GRANT MCLELLAND

 

Michael Grant McLelland of Kincardine passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Monday, May 16, 2011 in his 28th year.

 

Beloved husband of Rebecca McLelland (née Ellis).  Dear son of Grant McLelland of RR#2 Kincardine and Cathy McLelland (Garry Woods) of RR#5 Kincardine.  Loved brother of Lisa (Jason) Emke of Hanover and Bryn Holmes of RR#2 Kincardine.  Cherished son-in-law of Ken and Cathy Ellis of Kincardine.

 

Fondly remembered by his niece Ava Emke.  Dear brother-in-law to Paige and Kaitlynn Ellis. Step-brother of Cory (Laura) Woods and Sonya (Dean) Watson.  Fond companion of "Doodle Bug".  Sadly missed by his grand-parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Friday, May 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.  The funeral service was held at the Kincardine United Church, 721 Princes Street, Kincardine, on Saturday, May 21, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Diane Dier officiating.  Serving as pallbearers were Josh Campbell, Jason Emke, Joel Plater, Dave Robinson, Matt Stanley & Mitch Walden.  Honourary pallbearers were Corey Brown, Geoff Clark and Craig Hood.  Interment, Kincardine Cemetery.

 

Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

LESLIE PETTER

Leslie Maureen Petter passed away on May 11, 2011, in London, Ontario, in her 47th year.

 

Beautiful daughter of Ted (Diane) Petter, of Kincardine; and Barb Petter (Richard Stoltz), of Acton. Loving granddaughter to the late Les and Florence Petter, of Kincardine.

 

Survived by her husband and soul mate, John Michielsen, of London.

 

Also survived by her brother Jeff Petter (Brenda Bradshaw), of Vancouver; and sister Marnie MacDonald, of Milton, Ontario.

 

She will be sadly missed by her Uncle Mike and Aunt Sandy Petter, and cousins Mark Petter, of Halifax; Luke Petter and Kaitlyn Petter (Ryan Young), of Kincardine.

 

Leslie was diagnosed with breast cancer one year ago, and was very courageous in her second battle with cancer, having survived Leukemia and a bone marrow transplant at age 24.

 

She was a devoted and highly respected teacher, athletic director and coach for 22 years at Medway High School in London. A memorial service was held at Medway on Sunday, May 15, 2011, with hundreds in attendance.

 

Leslie was given a second chance at life with the gift of her sister’s bone marrow, and was passionate about raising awareness for organ and tissue donation. As recently as three weeks ago, she assisted in running an event in London for Organ Transplant Awareness. Please consider the “Gift of Life” by registering your organs in Leslie’s memory. MYLA WALL

Myla Alexandria Wall (née McCarter), of Kincardine, died at the Braemar Retirement Centre in Wingham on Saturday, May 14, 2011, in her 89th year. 

 

Dear mother of Beverley (Hilda) Damm, of Tobermory; Darlene (David) Pollard, of Oakville; Lynda Fair, of Stratford; and James Wall, of Honolulu, Hawaii

 

Sadly missed by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 

 

Lovingly remembered by brother-in-law Clare Jones, of Peterborough

 

Predeceased by her husband Jim Wall, and her sister Raye Jones. 

 

Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, with Rev. Don Harry officiating. 

 

Interment Walkerton Cemetery.
