LYNN EMMERTON

Sept. 1, 1945April 5, 2011

Lynn Howard Emmerton, of Stonewall, Manitoba, passed away on April 5, 2011.

 

He is survived by his wife Mary; son Patrick (Misty), of Huron Township; daughter Jennifer, of Newmarket; as well as by several stepchildren and their families; and by grandchildren Patrick and Katie Emmerton.

 

Also survived by siblings Terry (Elly), Kenneth (Glenda), Daniel (Nancy) and Helen (Chris) Petre, as well as by sisters-in-law Elaine (John) and Sally (Bert).

 

Greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as by aunts Kay (Glenn) Fraser, Ethel (John) Nother and numerous cousins.

 

Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Eileen Emmerton; sister Nancy (Russell) Swan; and brothers John and Bert.

 

The funeral service was held in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 9, 2011.

 

 

WILMA JOHNSON

Wilma Kathleen Johnson (née Robinson), formerly of Listowel, passed away at the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on April 13, 2011, in her 82nd year.

 

Beloved wife of the late Ken Johnson.

 

Survived by siblings Ken Robinson, of Huron Township; Betty (Jack) Southen; Marj Johnson; Harry (Connie) Johnson; and Allan (Shirley) Johnson.

 

Also survived by several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

 

Predeceased by her parents, William and Kathleen Robinson; brothers Harold and Norman Robinson, sister Marie (in infancy), sister-in-law Mary Robinson; and brother-in-law Howard Johnson.

 

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on April 17, 2011.

 

The funeral was held on April 18, 2011 at the Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel.

Interment Fairview Cemetery.

 

 

MURRAY MacDONALD

Murray Alexander MacDonald, of London, died peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Sunday, April 10, 2011, in his 70th year. 

 

Beloved husband for 48 years of Betty MacDonald, of London

 

Loving father of Bev Drouin and Brian McCue, of Irapuato, Mexico; Karen and Eric Lagace, of Woodstock; and Teresa MacDonald, of London

 

Proud grandfather of: Chris, Jamie, Carter, Shawn, Kayla, Lil’Eric, Jessica and Josh; as well as three great-grandchildren: Layka, Aiden and Ashton. 

 

Dear brother of Kenny and Jennie MacDonald, Lorraine and the late Alvin Baker, and Shirley and the late Nelson Young. 

 

Murray dearly loved his dogs Trixie and Tasha.

 

Visitation was held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McFarlane and Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road, South, Lambeth (519-652-2020) on Friday, April 15, 2011. A celebration of Murray’s life was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2011

LLOYD QUINN

Lloyd Andrew Quinn, a veteran of the Second World War, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Thursday, April 7, 2011, in his 88th year. 

Beloved husband of Beatrice Quinn (née Fuller). 

Dear father of Carole Machan, of Kincardine, and her friend Doug Van Horne, of Chatsworth; Don and his wife June, of Kincardine; and Garry Quinn, of Kincardine, and his friend Gail Murphy, of Shelburne. Sadly missed by daughter-in-law Carol Quinn, of Kincardine; and son-in-law Paul Machan, of Goderich. 

Loved grandfather of David (Nicole) Quinn, of Vacaville, California; April Quinn (Kevin Irwin), of London; Dean Machan, of Goderich; Dale Machan (Kim Slater), of Whistler, B.C.; and Leigh Anne Quinn (Cam Becker), of Kitchener. Great-grandfather of Emily and Anthony Quinn. 

Cherished brother of Muriel Newton, of Trillium Court, Kincardine; Trevor (Sandra) Quinn, of Wasaga Beach; Margaret (Wes) Smith, of Ripley; and Edythe Cayley, of Teeswater. Also survived by sisters-in-law Joyce Quinn, of Trillium Court; and Della Quinn, of Kincardine; and by brother-in-law Pete Payne, of Erin

Predeceased by his brothers Harold and Earl Quinn; by his sisters Evelyn Murdoch and Eloise Payne; and by brothers-in-law Bob Dunlop, Gord Newton, Ross Cayley, Howard Stewart and Bill Murdoch. 

Lloyd was born on the North Line of Kincardine Township. He married Beatrice Fuller on Jan.26, 1944 in a double ceremony with her sister Catharine to Berwick Bell. In 1942, he joined the R.C.A.F. and served overseas for two years. He then bought a farm on the North Line where he farmed 100 acres and operated an electrical contracting business. He was active in 4-H leadership and the Kincardine Agricultural Society where he served as president. He has lived in the town of Kincardine for the past 16 years. He was a proud member of the Kincardine Royal Canadian Legion - Branch #183 for 56 years. 

Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Monday April 11, 2011 from where the funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 with Rev. Don Harry officiating. 

Serving as pallbearers were Dale and Dean Machan, David Quinn, Kevin Irwin, Cam Becker and Alan Murphy. 

Flower bearers were April and Leigh Anne Quinn.

Dorothy Eileen Shepherd, of Kincardine, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine on Sunday, April 17, 2011, in her 88th year.

Dear mother of Dianne (Bill) Van der Wal of Calgary, Alberta; Barbara (Denny) Knott, of London; Morley Shepherd, of London; Karen Winter, of Gananoque; Bonnie (Larry) Kraemer, of R.R. 2, Kincardine; Garry Shepherd, of Kincardine; Bev Shepherd, of R.R. 2, Kincardine; and Ruth Robbins-Wall (Andrew Wall), of Cambridge. 

 

Sadly missed by 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
