ROY HARRISON

 

Roy James Harrison passed away peacefully at Greenwood Court Nursing Home, in Stratford, on Tuesday, Feb.16, 2011, in his 89th year.

 

Survived by his loving wife Edna (née Boyce); his son Dennis and his wife Catherine; granddaughter Amanda, and great grandson Tyreese; grandson Kyle and his wife Jackie, all of Stratford.

 

Also survived by his brothers Lorne (Norma), of  London; and Eugene (Jean) and brother-in-law Cliff Buckingham, both of  Kincardine; sister in law Tess, of Dorchester; and brothers-in-law Ross (Helen) Boyce, of Owen Sound; and Ian (Helen) Boyce, of Durham.

 

Predeceased by sisters Helen Buckingham, and Margaret (Charles) Merritt, and by brothers William  (Peg), John “Jack” (Hilda), and Lenard.

 

Thank you to the wonderful staff of Greenwood Nursing Home for all their care and support.

 

There will be a private family memorial in Stratford.

 

Spring interment Kincardine Cemetery.

BARBARA JEAN MACKENZIE

Barbara Jean (née Collins) MacKenzie of Tiverton died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Sunday, February 13, 2011, in her 59th year.

 

She was the beloved wife of Glenn MacKenzie and dear mother of Jennifer (Steve) Beisel of RR#5 Kincardine and Jamie MacKenzie of Oshawa.  She was the loved grandmother of MacKenzie, Kwade and Nyah, cherished daughter of Jean Collins of Tiverton, and the loved sister of Ken Collins of RR#5 Kincardine.

 

She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Jim (Cathy) MacKenzie of Hines Creek, Alberta and Bruce (Carol) MacKenzie of Tiverton and her sister-in-law Ava MacKenzie of Kincardine.  Predeceased by her father Jack Collins, sister-in-law Sharon Collins, and brother-in-law Donny MacKenzie.  Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Tuesday, Feb. 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.  The funeral was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Tiverton, on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Jeanette Fleischer officiating.

 

Serving as pallbearers were Don Roppel, Dennis Todd, Carl Avis, Bruce MacKenzie, Ron Tout and Greg Plater.  Serving as flowerbearers were Tammy Mendyk, Shelley Lovas Tracy, Jason and Kaitlyn McDonell, Jackie Johnson, and Keira and Kert Collins.

 

Memorial donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or the Tiverton Firefighters Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

DAWSON H. POLLOCK

Dawson H. Pollock of Wingham died at Wingham and District Hospital, on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011. Mr. Pollock was 85 years old.

Beloved husband of the former Joyce Armstrong. Dear father of Brian (Cheryl) Pollock of Kitchener and Robert (Carol) Pollock of Erin. Loving grandfather of Darryl (Christine) Pollock of Brampton, Melissa (Chris) Schuett of Waterloo, Megan Pollock of Waterloo and Jennifer Pollock of Hamilton. Great-grandfather of Arya Schuett and Violet Pollock.

Also survived by brother Wally (Elaine) Pollock of Ripley, sister Lucille Fischer of Ripley and sister-in-law Lois Pollock of Ripley. Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Sophia (Haug) Pollock and by his brothers Melville, Clarence and Lorne (Second World War).

Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Ontario Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Wingham United Church Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Richard D. Hall officiating. Interment in Ripley Cemetery in Ripley, Ontario.
