For the first time in at least four years, Kincardine will not have a chance to win the Regional Silver Stick on home ice.
The finals are set for the 24th annual Kincardine Regional Stick, and all championship games will be played today (Thursday) at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
The novice B finals will feature Ayr and South Huron, while the novice C final was played this morning between Hagersville and Six Nations.
In peewee B action, South Huron will face Erin Hillsburgh at 1:30 p.m., while Mildmay and Drayton will face off for the peewee C championship at 3 p.m.
In bantam action, Seaforth will face Blyth for the C championship at 3 p.m., while the bantam B championship game will be played at 4:45 between Tavistock and Twin Centres.
Tavistock eliminated the Kincardine Tim-BR Mart bantams last night in a semi-final match-up. Tavi took a 2-0 lead into the third period and scored an insurance marker with six minutes to play. It should be a good game, as Twin Centres has not allowed a goal in this tournament so far.
Kincardine opened the tourney with a 6-2 win over Goderich and a 6-1 drubbing of South Huron. They then dropped a 1-0 decision to Twin Centres before facing Tavistock in the semi-finals.
The Kincaridne novices also advanced to the semi-finals after racking up a 2-1 round robin record, but were trounced 7-0 by a strong Ayr team. The novices had beaten BCH 2-1 and Tavistock 3-2 but were edged out by Goderich 3-2.
The Kincardine Legion peewees were 0-2-1 in round robin play and failed to advance.
