Letter

In my bid for a Ward One councillor position in Kincardine, I received a letter yesterday from a respected member of our community.

The letter was written to inform me that some individuals in the community have engaged in a campaign to discredit me on the basis of questioning my affiliation with Simon Fraser University. The individuals in question, upon a quick computer search, could not find my connection to FSU (Florida State University). I do not work for Florida State University. My alumni and employer university is Simon Fraser University (SFU). My election material clearly outlines this affiliation. I am proud of my accomplishments, obtaining my doctorate at SFU and working tirelessly for more than 10 years at Simon Fraser University. I do not have to defend myself but felt it necessary to clarify misinformation as I was warned this is "the word on the street".

This situation represents the type of politics the community has clearly voiced as undesirable for moving forward in the governance of our municipality. Please do not hesitate to email me at the address below if you would like further information on my background and accomplishments.
