MAY HOLLAND

May Holland entered into rest at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at the age of 91. 

May was born in Little Hampton, England and emigrated to Kincardine, Ontario, Canada when she was just one year old, where she lived with her parents, sisters and brothers until she was married.

Daughter of the late Albert Wright and Alice Reeves. 

Beloved wife of the late William "Bill" Holland. 

Loving mother of Bob Holland, of Lindsay; and Bill Holland, of Stouffville. Cherished grandmother of Lorree Appleby and Melanie Holland, of Scarborough. Great grandmother of Cody and Hailey Appleby, and Jessica Holland, of Scarborough; and great great grandmother of Madison, Kadince and Shaelyn Pettman, of Scarborough

Dear sister of Barbara (Mrs. William Murdock), Donald and his wife Gloria Wright. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. 

Predeceased by her sister Betty (Mrs. Bud Ankcorn), and brothers Harold Wright and his wife Dorothy, and Earl Wright and his wife Fran. 

Visitation was held at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay (705-328-2721) on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 3 p.m. until the time of a complete funeral service in the chapel at 4:30 p.m. 

Interment Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay.

DONALD McKENZIE

Donald John McKenzie, of Kincardine and formerly of Kincardine Township, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the age of 76. 

Beloved husband of Helen McKenzie (née Smith). 

Donald was born March 19, 1934 in Kincardine Township to John McKenzie and Charlotte MacLeod.

Dear father of Barry McKenzie (Dava), of Barrie; Brian (Claire) McKenzie, of Woodstock; and Megan (Maurice) Freiburger, of R.R. 5, Kincardine. 

Sadly missed by his grandchildren: Matthew McKenzie, Carissa McKenzie (Mike Ambroziak), Dayn and Lily Freiburger; and by his great granddaughter Hannah. 

Loved brother of Grace (Neil) Campbell, of Sarnia; and Lillian Rae, of Kincardine. Also survived by his brothers-in-law Eric Osborne, of Kincardine; and Graham (Cheryl) Smith, of Kincardine. 

Predeceased by an infant daughter Mary (March 5, 1957); his sister Dorothy Osborne; and brother-in-law Roxy Rae. 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010.  The funeral service was held in the chapel at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010, with Rev. Jeanette Fleischer officiating. 

Pallbearers were: Dan Norman, Ross Norman, Don MacArthur, Glen MacKenzie, Jim Convay and Tim Convay.

Flower bearers were: Matthew McKenzie, Carissa McKenzie, Dayn Freiburger and Lily Freiburger.

Interment Kincardine Cemetery

JESSIE MURPHY

Jessie Louise Murphy (née Coulter), of Kincardine and formerly of Kingston, died at Trillium Court Nursing Home on Thursday, March 18, 2010, in her 94th year. 

Dear mother of Wayne (Twink) Murphy, of Kamloops, B.C.; and Nancy (Rae) Gamble, of Kincardine. 

Sadly missed by grandchildren: Ryan (Tawni) Murphy, and Blair (Christie) Murphy, and by great grandchildren: Jackson Langerois, and Hunter, Makenna and Neveah Murphy. 

Predeceased by her husband, Edward Murphy; sisters Marjorie Coulter, Fidelis O'Shea, Marion Hickey and Helen Coulter; as well as by brothers Joe, Leonard and Wes Coulter. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston

ELLEN ROWE

Ellen Matilda Rowe (née Stewart), of Kincardine, passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Thursday, March 25, 2010, in her 88th year. 

She was born July 26, 1922 in Glenavon , Saskatchewan and attended Primrose school. In 1938 she and her family moved to Ontario.

Ellen was the second child of Tom and Fern (Larrett) Stewart.

Dear sister of six brothers: John (and Rosemary), Gerald (and Una), Ernest, Alex (and Laurina), Russell (and Gloria), Harold (and Lyla); and four sisters: Ila (and Arnold), Eva (and Ian), Mabel (and Ron), Mildred (and Ron). She is predeceased by Ila, Arnold, Gerald, Una, John, Harold. 

Ellen married Ralph Goessell in 1942 and over the course of 27 years they raised three children until Ralph’s death in 1969. She will be sadly missed by her two sons: Garry (and Elaine) Goessell, of Kincardine; and Randy (and Christiane) Goessell, of Toronto; and by her daughter Susan (and Don) Selby, of Oshawa

Ellen married Ken (Blackie) Rowe Sr. in 1974 and enjoyed 27 years of marriage until his death in 2000. She will be missed by Ken’s five children: James Rowe, Valerie Rowe, Kenneth Rowe Jr., Ellen Rushton and Maurice Rowe.

Ellen was loved dearly by her grandchildren: Shannon (and Scott) Allen, Heather (and Sam) Pagé of Kincardine; Christopher and Laura Goessell, of Toronto; and Andrew Selby, of Oshawa. She will also be missed by her great grandchildren: Hayden, Hailey, Hogan, Heidi, Hesther and Quinton, of Kincardine.

For many years Ellen was an active member of the Kincardine United Church and the Royal Canadian Legion as an auxiliary member. She enjoyed tending to her garden and feeding the many birds that were attracted to her flowers. She always welcomed visitors with a cup of tea and good conversation. 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, from 3:30-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010. The funeral service was held in the chapel at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, with Rev. Don Harry officiating. 

Pallbearers were: Chris Goessell, Bill Stanley, Brian Stewart, Sam Pagé, Hayden Allen, Jamie Rowe, Scott Allen and Andrew Selby.

Flower bearers were: Quinton Pagé, Hesther Pagé, Hailey Allen, Heidi Allen and Laura Goessell.
