DOROTHY BROWN

Dorothy Anne Brown (née Riley), of R.R. 2, Tiverton, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in her 78th year. 

Beloved wife of Howard Brown. 

 

Dear mother of Linda (Joe) Miklos, of Sarnia; Donald (Jowilla) Brown, of R.R. 2, Tiverton; Rosemary Gates, of Hepworth; Kathy (Dale) MacPherson, of Edmonton; Jim (Laurie) Brown, of R.R. 2, Tiverton; and Donna (Joe) Ball, of Brussels. 

Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Rachel (Ed), Gary (Dale), Dustin, Jenny (Jamie), Angie (Sean), Shanan (Jamie), Charlene, Cody (Melissa), Blair (Eric), Jamie (Tom), Brandy (Kevin), Heidi (William), JD, Arin (Chad) and Bobby (Julia); and great-grandchildren: Caleb, Ben, Corner, Katie, Austin, Jaden, Owen, Joey, Simon, Abigail and Logan. 

Cherished sister of Bob Riley, of Edmonton; Jack (Dorothy) Riley, of Paisley; Dan Riley, of Hamilton; and Patricia Grey, of Toronto. Also survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Schnur, of Hepworth.  

Predeceased by brothers Bill and Grant Riley, sister Joyce Deraiche, and granddaughters Sonya and Brittany. 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010, from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010, with Rev. Bob Cotie officiating. 

Pallbearers were: Gary Bryce, Bob Ball, and Cody, J.D., Don and Jim Brown. 

Flower bearers were: Rachel Stack, Jenny Buckle, Blair Neerhos, Jamie Brown and Arin Ball.  Interment Kincardine Cemetery

STEPHEN BROWN

The world has lost a cherished soul ... but heaven has gained an honoured citizen.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the loss of our brother, Stephen George Brown. He passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, at University Hospital in London on Dec. 17, 2009.

 

Stephen was born in Kincardine, ON on Sept. 29, 1954.

 

Predeceased by his parents, Lorraine and Gordon Brown.

 

Lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters: Douglas Brown (Marge), Sandra Sutherland (John), Dale Brown (Helen), Susan Patterson (Terry), Dana Thompson (Brian); and by his nieces and nephews.

 

Stephen had many friends in Owen Sound who were thoughtful and kind to him.

 

In his final years, the people at Community Living Owen Sound and District were beyond wonderful in their care and concern for his happiness and welfare. The family is so very grateful and could never adequately thank them.

 

Cremation has taken place.

 

Spring interment Kincardine Cemetery.

 

A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held at a later date.

 

GERALD MANN

Colonel Gerald Charles Mann, CD, died peacefully on March 10, 2010

Beloved husband of Nancy for 18 years. 

Loving father of Tina (Jack Trimmer) and Harmon. 

Dear son of Irene Gottfried and the late Charles Mann. 

Gerald will be missed by many including Jill, his brothers Jackie and Roi, and by his friends and military and police co-workers.

Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, March 13 and 14, 2010 at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet’s Point Road, Barrie. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010 at the Barrie Armoury, 37 Parkside Drive, Barrie

GLORIA SCHAUS

Gloria Schaus, formerly Gloria Aitken, passed away at Brucelea Haven in Walkerton on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the age of 62 years.

Beloved wife of Gary Schaus of Clifford.

Dear mother of Heather Schaus, of Harriston; Michael, Tracey and Lisa Schaus, all of Clifford.

Also survived by her parents, Stuart and Eletta Aitken, of Ripley; by two sisters: Vera Lappano and Frank, of Toronto, and Ferne Abell and Wes, of Dunkeld; and by two brothers: Bruce Aitken and Kathy, of Bracebridge; and Clark Aitken and Sue, of Ridgetown.

Predeceased by an infant son.

Visitation was held at the Garrett Funeral Chapel in Clifford until noon on Sunday, March 14, 2010. The funeral service was held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Clifford at 2 p.m. on March 14, 2010, with Rev. Kurt Reinhardt officiating.

Pallbearers were: Jeff Schaus, Tim Schaus, Jeff Abell, Wes Abell, Steven Lappano and Jared Aitken.

Flower bearers were: Angela Schaus, Karen Aitken and Gillian Aitken.

Interment Clifford Cemetery.
