ROBERT BUSHELL

Robert “Bob” Bushell, formerly of R.R. 2, Holyrood, passed away at South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine on Feb. 15, 2010, in his 67th year. 

Beloved son of the late Russell and Lily Bushell. He was born on Oct. 4, 1943 in Kincardine Township.   

 

Survived by Uncle Walter and Aunt Mary Breckles, of Kinlough; Aunt Nina Bushell, of Lucknow, and several cousins; Doug and Laura Dahmer, of Kincardine; George and Joanne Bushell, of Ottawa; Catherine Fraser, of Wingham; Phil and Joyce Breckles, of Goderich; and Art and Barb Breckles, of Kinlough. 

The funeral service was held from the Kinlough Pentecostal Church at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, with visitation for one hour prior. Rev. Leo Duister officiated. 

Pallbearers were Art Breckles, Doug Dahmer, Bill Hodgins, Bruce Bushell and George Bushell.

MYRTLE CAMERON

Myrtle Cora Cameron (née Munro), of  Kincardine, died at the Wingham and District Hospital, on Tuesday, Feb.16, 2010, in her 100th year. 

Beloved wife of the late Stuart Cameron. 

Dear mother of Ora Zondervan, of Kitchener

Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Paul Zondervan (Carla Church) and Kevin Zondervan, and by her great-grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Owen and Keelan. 

She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Verna Munro, of Bruce Township, as well as by four nephews, five nieces and their families. 

 

Predeceased by her parents, Neil and Edith (née Berndt) Munro; her sisters, Anna Mae (Bob) Wrightson and Jeanette (Bill) Campbell; her brothers, Cliff (Beulah) Munro and  Neil Munro; as well as her son-in-law Ype Zondervan.

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010  from 3:30-5 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held in the chapel at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, with Rev. Jim Weir officiating. 

Pallbearers were Paul and Kevin Zondervan, Doug Wrightson, and Murray, Larry and Dennis Munro. 

Flower bearers were Myrtle's great-grandsons, Joshua, Jacob, Owen and Keelan.

DOROTHY HOWARD

Dorothy Eileen Howard (née Hedley), of Kincardine, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, on Monday, Feb.15, 2010, in her 86th year. 

Daughter of Frederick and Ida (McIntosh) Hedley.

Beloved wife of the late Harry Howard. 

Dear mother of David (Becky) Howard, Schuylerville, New York; and Steve (Carol) Howard, of Brampton. Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Tristan Howard, Kate (Owen) McGrath, Jenn (Erik) Bankey, Christina (John) Healey and Danielle Howard; and her great-grandchildren: Cillian, Adrianna, Austin and Liam.

Predeceased by her brother Ken (Jenny) Hedley. 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m., with Rev. Don Harry officiating. 

Pallbearers were Erik Bankey, Raymond MacDonald, Warren Thynne, John Healey, Bill McGrath and Ken Chettleburgh.

MARJORIE REID

Marjorie Gwendolyn Reid (née Baird), of Kincardine, died at the Southampton Care Centre, on Sunday, Feb.14, 2010, in her 91st year. 

Daughter of Robert and Margaret (née Elliott) Baird.

Beloved wife of the late Morris Reid. 

Dear mother of Linda and her husband Jack Campbell, of R.R.1, Kincardine. 

Sadly missed by her sisters Winnifred Howe, of Kincardine; and Evelyn Hewitson, of Owen Sound

Predeceased by her sisters Lola Harris and Lenore Hooey. 

Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, from 12 noon until the funeral service at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Don Harry officiating. 

Honourary pallbearers were Jim and Bob Harris, Lynne and Brian Reid, and Bill and Murray Hewitson.

Flowerbearers were Joan Grandy, Heather Hunter, Deb Thomson and Bonnie Moffat.

DONALD THACKER

Donald Philip Thacker died suddenly on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, aged 49 years old. 

Dear son of the late Harold (1985) and Mary (2008) Thacker.

Dear brother of  Anna Isabelle Thacker, of London; Barb Jacklin, of New Dundee; Bev Jackson (Budd), of New Dundee; Edward Thacker, of Point Clarke; Brenda Kennedy, of Teeswater; and Cora Jane Thacker, of Kitchener.

Best friend and business partner of Duane Gauvin (Ela Smolarz) and his good buddy Andrew Gauvin.

Don will be missed by his devoted pet Junior. Don was a former member of the K-W Big Brother Association and will missed by his little brother David. 

Predeceased by one sister, Donna Thacker (1960).

Visitation was held at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa Street S., Kitchener (519-743-8900) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 in the Funeral Home Chapel. A reception was held at the funeral home following the service.

Cremation followed.

LLOYD WILSON

1922-2010

Lloyd Wilson, Second World War veteran – 423 SQN RCAF, passed away at the Midland General Hospital on Jan. 19, 2010, in his 88th year.

 

Beloved husband of Marjorie (Tufford) for 62 years.

 

Father of David Wilson and family, of Burlington; and Mary Anne Wilson, of B.C.; and grandfather to three.

 

Dear brother of Helen McLeod. Brother-in-law of Elinor Wilson; and uncle to many Tufford and Wilson nieces and nephews.

 

Predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.

 

The funeral service and a Legion service were held on Jan. 25, 2010.

 

Interment at a later date, Kincardine Cemetery.
