The road to the Super Bowl

The road to the Super Bowl goes through New England once again.


Both games on Sunday went to overtime and both were won by the road teams. It looked like New England might be beat, but Tom Brady led them down the field in overtime to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 37-31 in an unbelievable game.


Kincardine plans to undertake study to protect heritage district

Council close to finalizing 2019 capital budget

The Municipality of Kincardine is considering funding two studies this year that could have a positive impact on economic development.


During its second municipal budget meeting on Jan. 14, council weighed in on the draft capital budget and approved the majority of budgetary items, deferring only a couple for further discussion. Council agreed to allocate $45,000 from the municipal lifecycle reserve fund for a heritage conservation study. The purpose of the study is to look designating the area of Princes and Queen Streets in the vicinity of Victoria Park as a heritage conservation district.


MPP Lisa Thompson honours 2018 Remarkable Citizens

Lisa Thompson, MPP Huron-Bruce, honoured 23 truly remarkable people during her New Year’s Levee at the Teeswater Town Hall theatre Jan. 16.


Despite the fact the gala event had been postponed from the previous week due to weather, the theatre was filled family members and friends of those being honoured.




Doug Stewart of Kincardine passed away at the Southampton Care Centre on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, in his 80th year.


Cherished husband of Pat Stewart (née Sadler) of Kincardine.


Loving father of Ian Stewart and Aaron (Terri) Stewart, all of Kitchener.

Loving mother of Shannon (Jeff) McLeod of Scotland, Ontario; Shelley (Adam) Purdon of Oshawa; and Sandra (Bill) Kehoe of Dundas.

Wendy Susan Margaret Doy (née Macfarlane) died on Jan. 19, 2019, at Pinecrest Manor in Lucknow, at age 65.


She was born on Oct 5, 1953.

Jean Elizabeth York of Kincardine and a veteran of the Second World War passed away on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at the age of 92.
